Can't tell the sex of my Pekin Duck

Hi, I am a first time duck owner, and the duck pictured below is named Daisy. She is 5 months old, and I was almost completely sure she was a female, by the sound of her voice and the fact that she is missing a drake feather.
Tonight we caught her biting her sister's head and not letting go, and I started reading up on it and read she could possibly be male, because males bully and bite the females to try and mate with them.
I was mostly wondering if anyone could tell me based on this picture, does her tail have the male curve, or is it still too early to tell ?

She is beautiful, I hope she’s female :)

Mine are almost 5 months old , no curly tail feathers here but they tried to grab the other ducks necks when introducing them , I’m as new as you to ducks , I hope we both have females , I can exchange mine if I get a drake

Hello!!! And welcome to BYC!:frow

The most reliable way to tell the sex of your Pekin at this age is by their voice. If it quacks very loudly, it’s a female. If it sounds like it smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, it’s a male. I would ignore the shape of the Pekin and sometimes they could just have one weird feather on the tail but still be a female. Females will still mate and play hop on top even if there are no male ducks. They are sexual too. And it’s partially a dominance thing and very normal.

Have you ever seen two male dogs hump each other? Same kinda principle applies.

I love my Pekins. They are so soft and squishy.:love

Im having the same issue, got two pekin and dont know if i have a drake. They are about 2 months old, and one is twice the size of the other and its head is huge and very block shaped. Does that mean the big one is a drake. Also, the big one hisses at me. Any guesses? I can post pics if needed

When I went to get mine ,me and the 100 year old farmer :) caught them and went to a separate room , once put down the hens kept quacking and the drake was silent ... interesting right? That’s how I’ve made it to 30 years of marriage, I quack and he listens ❤️
