Can't wait to learn from you all! We got our first batch of chicks in April this year and unfortunately, only one of the twenty five survived a weasel attack! He's a Barred Rock we named Paco. When newbies are allowed to post images again, I've uploaded his picture.

Since then, we bought some hens from a lady trying to get rid of excess...although I think I need help in their breed. Since then, in November, we had one hen who decided to nest and we went ahead and let her. Six chicks were born, mixed up little chicks with features from Paco, but very different color. So right now they're in the house, but I'm concerned about getting them outside in another month or so, cause they'll be too big for the house, but it'll be very cold outside...Ohio in winter!

Any advice???

I'm glad Paco survived, now you have his babies! The only advice I can give is to use a heat lamp. Start out with a 250 watt and work your way down to a 60 watt over a long period time. They have to have some type of warmth. Good luck!
