My 6 week olds love little bits of cantaloupe. Can I throw a whole wedge in their coop and let them pick at it? I'm worried the rind might be bad for them or something.

I am trying to think back to their size at six weeks, but if I remember correctly they were small dinosaurs, so yeah, let them have wedges. They will eat it down to the rind, and if they eat that too, it's no big deal. What you have from this point on are wonderful walking garbage disposals. There is a treats list on here somewhere, search for 'treats' and see if it comes up, it will also tell you what you can not feed them, like potato skins. Have fun !

Go right ahead! Mine LOOOVE a cold watermelon or cantaloupe during the hot summers. I cut them in half and put it out for them.

Thanks. I already checked the treat chart and knew it was fine, but I was more concerned about their age and choking on hunks of the rind. Guess I'm overparanoid.
