Cantankerous neighbor

I am still planning on sharing eggs with them as I can. My husband and I have really tried to stuff the frustrations aside. We haave a meeting with the landlord this week so we can go over property stuff. I feel terrible though. I don't like having disagreements with anyone. Typically I will try to do whatever I can to resolve things. My husband is the same way. Thank you for the reminder that I need to remember that there may be something else going on.

As a newly married couple, my husband & I bought our first little house 40 years ago. The first thing our new neighbor said to us was, "I sure hope you won't be turning on your back porch light, like the last people did." Hmmm. No welcome to the neighborhood? She would rake up all the leaves in her front yard & throw them over the 3' retaining wall into our front yard (We both had trees in the front yard) My son's 1st birthday card was accidentally left at her house & she wrote 'not at this address.' Luckily our mailman realized what had happened & gave it back to us. The worst thing they did, was bait cat traps with tuna & trap our beloved cat, Mama's Little Baby Kitty Puss. We asked them if they had seen the cat & they lied & said no. If they had objected to the cat, we would have kept him in the house. They were mean & sour the whole time we lived next to them. For people who went to church 4x a week, they were mean spirited & petty. You have my sympathies.

I've been pretty lucky as neighbors go...other then the one who's pig came and rooted up my flower bulbs....who's goats ate the Christmas trees....and then their free range Turkey's wandered a 1/4 of a mile to challenge my penned wild turkeys....had to release the turkeys before they hurt themselves flying into the wire...actually the neighbors weren't bad....it's just that...their critters knew no boundaries

Nope, we moved a long time ago

. We now live in a rural area with great neighbors!

Ugh!!!!!!! We are in the process of clearing out a space for the coop and run. We are moving them. I left for town. Checked on my girls and the coop was locked up. My landlord texted me that the chickens were in our neighbors yard. Our neighbor took a freaking video and sent it to him. They dug a hole. I have a skirt around the whole thing. They dug out I guess. I called the landlord to let him know I was out of town and would be back. But that I had made sure they were locked in. He basically said deal with the chickens...have a nice evening....and hung up. Our landlord is upset. Come to find out the neighbors have been whining to him about this or that for a while so he is fed up. UGH!!!!!! They didn't communicate with us at all!!!! Now we are looking at getting rid of my girls and just getting chickens when we move and buy. We originally wanted to live here for 2 yrs. Now...end of this lease and we are planning on getting out of here. I can't believe this. We have never ever had problems with neighbors. UGH!!!!!

That stinks!
I had a very terrible boss once (never had a terrible neighbor tho), at one of my first jobs, for 6 years that guy tried to crush me darn near everyday.
Finally got out of there and have had many other bosses that weren't ever quite as bad, I always used that pr!ck one as a measuring stick....
.....telling myself, if I could survive him, I can survive anyone.
Hang in there, you'll get thru it.

If you have to stay....really secure your coop and run....and get a outdoor security camera.....they are getting cheaper.....Wi-Fi ready....set it up so it covers the coop and run....if your neighbor is letting your girls loose when you aren't around you can catch him at his own game.....I know it seems extreme but it might do the trick.....to catch him letting them out....and you can keep an eye on the girls to make sure they are not getting out on their own....I've considered one set up to see what my birds are up to when I have to be at work....keep an eye out for predators....there's plenty of them here in northern michigan.
