I am starting to caponize my young cockerels. Any advise on the procedure?

Did you stitch or glue the skin incision, or just leave it to heal on its own?My first couple did not go well, but the next ten survived. Have you had to make a cut on both sides or are you able to get them both through one cut?
I have 4 that I am planning to caponize over the weekend. I am hoping to get some photos if I can get my hubby to cooperate...lol. I put my own kit together with some human/veterinary instruments, and am anxious to see how well they work.My first couple did not go well, but the next ten survived. Yes, that is my understanding. What breed were you cockerels? Brahmas??I stitched mine up after I was done. I think this is more of personal preference.
