Captain Beefcake is wooing the hens!

Doing his little one-legged wing thing. He's only 3 months old! How old are roos before they can actually start mating and stop pretending?

Update: I just saw him do the deed with one of the older hens. At three months, is it for real or is it pretend??

I don't know if he is able to really...uhh...spread his genes yet though. But it looks like he knows what he's doing. Just an early bird.

SUCH an early bird. I couldn't believe it. He's been doing the dance for a few days now, but today, he grabbed one of the hens by the neck and mounted her. I wasn't really prepared for how violent it seemed! But she squatted for him and it was over in about three seconds. Crazy stuff! Do you know WHEN a rooster becomes fertile? I have scoured the internet, but haven't found the answer ... Not that it really matters one way or the other, but I'm just curious.
