Cardboard brooder in ingested garage.

I have a cardboard brooder from my pet chicken. Can I put that in my detached unheated garage on asphalt floor with a cozy coop heater. I’ll put cardboard in the floor and wood shavings. Will that work? I’ll leave a light in for them as well. It’s predator proof as well.

I have used melon boxes. Melon boxes work great. I put plastic in the bottom with shavings on the plastic.

I set up horse mats for the floor and put down some cardboard and then the pine shavings. I’ll use the “cozy coop heater” to keep them warm. I’ll also put a live webcam so I can monitor them.

as long as they have heat that they will be fine. they will move as close or far away as they need.

The garage is fine. The main thing is it's a draft free, rain/snow free zone.

I keep my chicks in my garage but they are nice, warm and dry. Soon some of the chicks will get moved out to the grow-out coop where they will also be warm and dry. They are kept in the grow-out coop for awhile then they will think of it as their safe place and not hesitate to go in once I open the pop door. I do keep a light on for them. They do eventually get moved out to the outer coops. Here are a few pictures. Good luck and have fun.
