Hey gang! I just want to ask if anyone out there has chickens that hunt, kill, and devour mice (and other small rodents), and if so, whether or not you use their manure in your compost pile! Thanks!

Yes, most chickens are savages at heart. It’s actually a little scary. The poop and eggs are just as good to use as everything else. If not better!! Extra protein, calcium, fat, etc.
too many mice can really mess up a chickens systems though so it is important to make sure they aren’t eating to many.

Indeed they are. 🦖 I was actually pretty pumped to know they could help reduce the mouse population. I don’t think they are eating mice too regularly, but I’ll try and limit it. Thanks!

Mice are usually far and few between anyways so it’s kind of hard for them to eat too many mice as long as your not feeding them directly to them every other day
