Carolina Coops' video on predator aprons - is this right?

So my coop's getting built and I need to get together my predator apron.

I'm watching the video above, and it seems good to me.

Does anybody see stuff in it they disagree with?

They're using green pvc coated 16 gauge 2 inch x 3 inch fencing - is 2"x3" small enough to keep burrowing stuff out?

Depends on what you're trying to keep out. For larger animals like dogs, coons, coyotes that should be fine, for rats/mice it won't be. Rats would need 1/2" gaps or smaller, mice may need as small as 1/4".

I honestly think they use the stuff they do because it is cheaper. The fewer the number of wires, the lower the cost, generally. I would use 1/2 x 1/2 HC, but that's me. I used the same stuff they are using, but taller, for a fence around my garden, but I wouldn't use it for an apron.
