carrots ok?

Since they are hard are they ok to feed? and if so how small do they have to be chopped up? I have a bag of baby carrots thats on the "verge" Thanks

Can you put them in a food processor or grate them?

And, my hens like them microwaved . . . no need to peel and they'll eat the tops, too.

In fact, they'll eat just the tops and peels

. But, they really like 'em cooked.

I either chop them by hand or put them iin the processor if I have lots. They eat them up quick!

Mine won't touch them, no matter what! The do not eat them cooked, either.

Mine like them cooked, but raw carrots were definitely not a hit with them!

I have given our birds many many kinds of veggies.
Carrots they seem to like. May not go crazy over them right away, but they will eat them. I have given them straight out of the garden(tops, dirt and all).And I have also given them cooked ones from the house. I really haven't noticed a difference on which they prefer better as they eventually eat them all...
