my chickies girls were no that interested in my grated carrots...thought they would love themm...guess not

If you want to try giving them treats, try grapes or cheese, that's my chickens favorite treat. If they are chicks, they may not be to interested in treats yet, mine weren't until they were 2 months old.

ok thanks for the help....they sure do loveeeee mac and cheese and any meats and boiled eggs and scrambled eggs for sure

Mine are slow on eating carrots that are fresh grated or peeled BUT love them when they are cooked. I take the carrot sheds and place them in a Tupperware container with water and use the microwave. Works fine for me.

thanks...i was thinking the same thing about cooking them

I fed mine hens carrots for the first time tonight. The seemed to enjoy them! Now I'm worried tho cuz I read they should've been grated but I cut them into small bite sizes pieces instead.

Chickens can peck a mouse or frog into pieces they can eat. Those beaks are dangerous weapons. Cooked carrots are not a challenge at all.

Mine like practically any vegetable cooked although they’ll eat a lot raw veggies too. I regularly toss them carrots peelings. That’s where you use a vegetable peeler to peel carrots and get long thin “shavings”. They like them that way. Carrots help darken the egg yolks.

I grow carrots and many other vegetables. Occasionally I’ll toss whole raw carrots I to them, the ones that are too twisted to be really useable. They’ll normally peck them apart and eat them, though they don’t go crazy over them. As I said, those beaks are dangerous weapons.

Chickens are not consistent. I’ve tossed them things that they are supposed to love, like cabbage leaves, and they sometimes ignore them. Eventually they usually learn to eat them but it is not always love at first sight.
