Would that work? I bought a silkie at a chicken show and she smelled like cat flea powder. It seems like I remember reading somewhere that flea powder works. I would be nervous eating eggs from a hen that was dusted, but my silkie is not laying yet. Anyone heard of this?

You can bathe in kitten (not cat) flea shampoo with complete safety.
I am not big on using any powder... birds have very sensitive lungs and it must not be forgotten that these powders are meant to ONLY be used on the outside of the bird and most can and do cause injury when inhaled. You could also look in a pet store for the special pump action spray that may be used ON the birds ... they also have such for pigeons which will work equally well. (Take care to protect the eyes and nares)
