Hi Everyone,
Newbie chicken owner. I have become rather addicted to this new hobby. Ask me a year ago if I would have had chickens and I would have looked at you funny and said, "No."

I read on the list that sprouts, oat or wheat sprouts are a good source of greens for the chickens. Would "cat grass" be appropriate sprout grass? It is easy to get and grow.

I also read that someone uses high quality bird seed as a scratch. Anyone else use this or have tried it?

I've heard about growing bird seed... but I have yet to try it. I do have cat grass as well and as far as I know it is just wheatgrass. I even have a cat "blend" which is wheatgrass, barley, and oats I think... I would think it would all be fine for the peeps.
