cat help asap

The kennel is a great idea. Surdy posts enclosed with chicken wire would do the trick. Then you could add a wood box or dog house and they wouldn't need any heat.

im in pennsylvania though. the cold gets pretty cold. and if there indoor cats wont they still need some kind of heat source?

Not if the box has bedding and they're dry and out of drafts. Three cats will warm each other.

alright....... i was told that blankets would freeze faster then bedding. is there something better to use as bedding? i have aspen shavings and hampster bedding in there right now, becasue that was all i had at the time i got them.

A box, big enough for some nice polar fleece blanket and 3 cats, not too much bigger than that would work. Seal up the box and cut an entrance hole and put the blanket in there to make a little "cave'. They should all crawl in there and snuggle to keep warm.
I just always worry about heaters...any portable heater. Fire issues.
Put the box in the kennel with a litterbox and food/water. You'll have to find a way to keep the water from freezing though.

Keeping the sleeping area dry is the key to keeping them warm. I would use the yellow straw. Not hay make sure it is straw. It insulates and will stay dry as long as you can keep the area out of the snow and rain.
Maybe you can clean out an area in the shed your dad doesn't use and set up an area in there with a dog house with the straw in it for them.
Good Luck!

I used to keep outside cats growing up... They never had a "heat source" other than eachother and a draft-free box. A source of fresh, non-frozen water is more important than a "heat source".

sadly my parents pull more of there crap today...... i came home from college only to find they put then in a humane society (dispite knowing i have issues with them) and they never told me.

i broke a promise to my girlfriend who was worried about them........ and it hurts. i told her they would stay with me an her no matter what.....

worst of all this isnt the first time, when i had dogs two years ago they euthanized one of them without even telling me.......

i didnt even get to say goodbye.

I'm so sorry, hon. Some people just don't value animals as much as others do. When you have your own place, you'll be able to care for you animals the way you want to.

I'm sorry. I hope you and you DGF get your own place soon and you can make a wonderful home for several needy kitties. I'm sure your DGF will understand that you did you're best but you've still under your parent's roof and they make the rules. Sadly they didn't understand. You'll soon have a baby to care for so maybe waiting a bit wouldn't be so bad.

again, you were so good to give them a chance and they still have much more of a chance at a home now then if you didn't find them. Have faith.
