It has been a really long time since we have had a Kitten.

What shots do they need, how often and how many of them? (of course wormings too)

I know with puppies they need DHPPC, rabies, and dewormings, but kittens I just dont know what shots they get, and how far apart they get them etc....

They should get rabies, for sure. After that, there is some controversy. Some say they don't need all the shots routinely given by vets esp. if they are indoor only cats. Get the kitty tested (if it hasn't already been) for feline leukemia. Mine get panleukopenia (feline distemper), rhino and calici vaccinations, as well as rabies and all were vaccinated for FeLV. Starting at 9 weeks, then 3-4 months, 6 months and a year, then yearly boosters after that. The age for first giving rabies is sometimes determoned by law. Talk to your vet. He/she will know the risks of not giving some of the vaccinations in your area. Rabies is usually required by law, but others are your choice.

Thank you, I have called the Vets office and I am waiting on them to call me back as I have left 2 messages this week! They are a low cost office for wellness and spay/neuter so they stay super busy and can be hard to get a hold of!!
