cat vs silkie

i have what might be a strange problem,i've just gotten a breeding pair of golden silkies,the hen is a bantam tiny little girl and our cat wants to kill it,the silkies are in a pen at the moment till my other hens are used to them so all connie can do for now is sit and look in but i'm sure as soon as i let them out she's gonna try something,i know that look in her eye! she's never showed any interest in the bigger feathered hens,i'm at a complete loss! sorry btw just noticed i posted this in wrong forum

Small chickens can definately be prey for cats. Keep her penned up.

thanks! no chance her boyfriend will protect her? any time my other hens even look at her she runs and hides under him

Our chicks are maybe 6/7 weeks old and the cat's too interested for my tastes. Until they're full grown we'll be keeping the chicken in the run. Good luck to you!
