I brought home a cat yesterday who was going to be killed, she has never been indoors before so I though that was the problem, but now I'm thinking she has a UTI, has peed ALL OVER my bed, and on the floor, and she meows when she pees sometimes. Does this sound like a uti? And should I take her to the vet or would UTI medicine for pets from Walmart do the trick?
I know the obvious choice is the vet, but I don't have a ton of money to spend on vet bills right now, so just trying to get some opinions

I would try to get her to an area where if she pees it can get cleaned up. Just a small area with not a lot of traffic. Place a large tray with litter inside as well as food and water. If she still pees after a couple days I would see a vet. Hopefully it's just stress.

I put her in a large dog crate with her litter box, a towel to sleep on, and her food and water. She doesn't have a lot of space but hopefully it does the trick. If not I will take her to the vet Friday

If she is vocalizing while urinating, I would definitely take her to the vet. If you can collect a urine sample, that would be useful. If not, they should be able to get one at the office. If it is indeed a UTI, then she would need antibiotics from the vet. Unfortunately, store medicine just won't do the trick!

I have had several cats over the years and one of them would get UTI all the time, she was just more susceptible to it I guess, She would pee on everything. The vet told me to start putting a little apple cider vinegar in her water and it would help prevent her from getting a UTI in the first place. Anyway she hasn't had another UTI since I started putting the vinegar in her water. Can't promise it will help you like it did for me but I'm so glad I started doing it. I put 1 Tablespoon in maybe 2 cups of water or so. Good luck
