Cat

I was worried about my ducks and our young male cat.....until I saw all four of the ducks chase Zeus under the wheelbarrow. I had to go out there and shoo the ducks away so he could come back in to the house

As long as there are no chicks around,I wouldn't worry too much.
Today after my sister fed her cat and went in the house,my little brown leghorn hen jumped up to the cat dish and shoved the big cat away with a slap from her wing. She really wanted that catfood.

Our cats are definitely on the bottom of the pecking order, and my hens remind them of this daily. Mostly they just peacefully coexist, but we have one EE hen who just chases cats for sport. I don't worry about the full grown birds, but I certainly wouldn't trust a cat with chicks. I might also be concerned if the cats outnumbered the chickens.

My cats are fine even with my 8 week old bantam chicks. They will lay in the sun in the run and the chicks will roost on top of them!!

However I wouldn't trust them with small chicks. My bantam roos are so mean even the 8 week old ones that the cats just don't bother them. They do however go into the coop and get the mice that like to try to make homes in there. My bantam roos definatley rule the yard even the dogs move out of the way when they see them coming!!

But I would be cautious!! Better safe than sorry!!

my cat is scared of the chickens. but there was a stray cat in my yard stalking the chickens. I think that cats can be dangerous. but if the cat has not harmed the chickens yet don't worry about it that much.

My cats are terrified of the girlies. They'll follow me into the run to see what kind of scraps I'm feeding them because they think I'll keep them safe but the minute I'm turning to leave they're outta there. I don't know if someone taught them a lesson or they just realize that these girls are related to dinosaurs but they don't like chickens.

It depends on how hungry that stray/feral cat is.
I lost 25 4 week old chicks to the neighbors DEAD cat. All killed for sport.
I also caught a cat in the act of stalking/hunting my full grown chinese goose. Literally shot it at the moment it decided to pounce.

Cats in the coop might be looking for mice.
I had a hen get a severly infected wing after she and a cat battled it out. Keep an eye on the cat! I have 3 and I don't let them hang out with the birds anymore!
