Is this a cataract in my palomino quarter horse???? The lady I bought him from said that he had a blue eye, but I did a little research and it definitely looks like a cataract to me! I DO NOT think the lady was being dishonest I think she really thought it was a blue eye. She comes by sometimes to check on him also. He 25 years old so he has been around for awhile!

Looks like a cataract to me. Unfortunately, stuff like that comes with age.
He must of had it for years now because the woman I got him from said he had always had a blue eye and how she thought it was really pretty. She bought him when he was 12-14 as a barrel horse and I think she would have noticed if it wasn't there when she first got him.

A cataract is cloudiness of the lens deep inside the eye. Since this appears to cover part of the iris (colored part of the eye), I'm thinking it is cloudiness of the cornea, which could be the result of some long-ago injury to the eye.
