I am wondering if my chicken has a cataract or other eye disease? She is my oldest hen

can also cause this, though it typically develops in younger chickens after they've recovered. (Once they've recovered they're not a carrier or contagious and can pass resistance to the disease on thru their eggs.)

If she's an older hen then it may just be due to age. If it's only one eye I wouldn't worry. They can adjust no problem if they still have one good eye.

Cataracts can have a number of causes, such as vitamin A deficiency, respiratory disease, avian encephalomyelitis (epidemic tremors) in early life, and other causes. Can she seem to see okay to get around?
