hi! i've seen lots of things confirming catnip is safe for chickens to eat, but i was wondering about how safe it is for ducks?
my runner won't be eating any, but we have a new kitten and they love to put catnip in all cat toys now. my runner has been loving sharing some of the toys with her new brother but i realized they have catnip inside of them. is this bad or toxic for ducks? i want to be sure to keep her away from them if it is.
thank you!

I would not give it to your ducks it could harm them .is your kitten a barncat or housecat? Do your ducks live inside your house or do they have their own duckhouse I just love runner ducks I have two myself named wiggles and runner cuddleduck

catnip is fine. you need another duck though, having just one duck just because it’s easier for you isn’t best for the duck
my duck was a rescue and she’s been raised by me for 2 years now. ducks need a flock which doesn’t need to be other ducks as long as they have constant company, which mine does because i work from home and provide her everything she needs. :) she’s a very happy and spoiled girl.

no ducks need other ducks. my ducks are imprinted to me and believe i’m their mom, doesn’t change the fact that ducks need to have other ducks.

i know catnip can be harmful to birds/parrots which i also have, so i wanted to make sure it was different for ducks. :) the kitten is a house cat, and my duck can come and go from the house as she pleases. she has a space inside and outside! she’s not a fan of the cold so lately she’s been cuddled up inside. her name is paz! i love your runners’ names!
