Cats and young chickens

Hello,
Now I know cats won't go after full size chickens. But I am going to let my 8- 10 week chicken out to free range. And wonder if I should put up a temporary fence.your thoughts

Hi Nieghbor, we live out off dry creek Rd now. Yep I guess your right our cats killed a quail also thanks

My own stinking barn cats were my worst predators for a year or so. Chicks up to almost 3 months were fair game, and Silkies up to about 6 months.

they've never gone after an adult bird, even a bantam. So it's not all size, some is the attitude of the prey.
