Cats don't lay eggs~right?

He sure thinks he is. He has snack with them, free-ranges with them- now he's sleeping with them. Guess I'll have to check the boxes at night to make sure I don't lock him in the coop.

We often times take a couple of days off and stay in Blue Ridge. It's so pretty up there.

That's about 45 minutes away. I go to the playhouse down there sometimes. We're at a higher elevation, about 2000 ft, and are more mountainous than BR. We also have a huge lake that wanders right through the town. I love it here.

Just to update you- we did let Boogie keep his nest box and it hasn't detered the girls from laying in the boxes. They just started last week. Today we found an egg in Boogie's box. Not sure if it was a gift, a way of saying "Share" or perhaps cat's do lay eggs- but a boy cat?

That's fantastic! You've got a livestock guardian cat. Lives with the flock, eats with the flock, protects the flock - just like those great big dogs (but doesn't eat as much and smells better).

too cute! my cat thinks she's a chicken too, or at least wants to part of the flock! she is desperate but the ladies will have nothing to do with her. i find her in the coop, in the run and always just in the distance of the girls when the are ranging. i figured mine was having an identity crisis!
