I was happy to give them a tasty treat, and do you think those little buggers appreciated it? NO! [IMG] Poor babies are scared to death and running away from it. [IMG] I'm so disappointed. No wonder they're called chickens! [IMG]

Give them a bit of time. Pretty soon one of them will get brave and grab it and then the rest will chase after the bold one and try to steal it. [IMG] You might speed up the process if you try mealworms next time, not as intimidating to a little chick as the large crickets.

We bought baby crickets (8 cents each) at Petsmart for our chicks when they were 2 weeks old. They were baffled by them for a few moments, but then decided to taste them.

    The chaos was hilarious!!! [IMG]

After that anything that crawled, wiggled, or flew was lunch. [IMG]

That's one advantage of raising chicks with a few guineas... the guineas can't resist anything that moves, and sure enough, there is a stampede every time one catches a moth!
