caught in a live trap

Now what the heck do I do????

Three nights ago I had the unpleasant suprize of finding one of my BO missing her head....... holes dug all around the enclosure but it still seemed whatever did it pulled her head through the fencing...............
Saw paw prints with large claw marks in the dirt......
Thought it was a racoon......
Set the live trap that night with fish heads......
Next two mornings nothing.....
Today at 6:00 am I saw what appeared to be a very large rat.....lol a possum.......
Now what to do with it ....... Anybody want it????

Well I guess I am gonna have to wait until DH gets home tonight and let him shoot it. I sure don't want to open the trap and it get out before i could shoot it...... do not think I would be quick enough....... Not even sure I could open the trap with that thing inside......... although it is sitting there quite dociley at the moment I saw what it did to my little sweetie. I definately don't want to be bit or scratched by it.....
How have any of you gotten a predator out of a live trap to shoot it...... I don't want to shoot it in the trap...... those things cost $60.00, I would like to be able to use it again sure looks like there was more than one of them around the pen......

who would buy an opossum pelt? They stink to High heaven.....

If you have a large tank of water or a plastic garbage can you can fill it with water and drop the cage and all in and drown it. My wife has done that when I am away occasionally. You have to kill it though. It has tasted your flock and it will be back unless you do.

Took a pic of the bugger not the greatest , I am not getting that close to it.....lol
