Caught my hen eating a fresh laid egg.

Not sure if it was her's? The free roam during the day and this egg was just laid prior to lock down. This egg was JUST laid.
I did a search and it sounds a bit grim to have an egg eating hen.

Hmmmm....thoughts?

I think it is just a matter of collecting the eggs before this hen sees it? Not really sure what to do. I have accidentally dropped an egg, more than once, and the hens will run to it but I quickly stomp on it to try to disguise it?? Not sure they don't see what I am doing anyway. sorry I couldn't be of help to you.

Your chickens need more calcium, if chickens need more calcium they will eat their own eggs!
