caught on hook

Hi, I found my 3 week old chick caught on a metal hook which penetrated about 12mm under her left wing, right in the armpit area. She wasn't trapped for long as I heard the commotion and seems ok, but I am worried about infection. Is there anything I should apply?

You can flush the wound with betadine/water 50-50 mixture. Pack the wound with neosporin. Continue to put neosporin on the wound til healed.
