I'm going to try and keep the faith. I'd hate to have to cull my son's "pet" chicken. But I'd also hate to have the other girls learn egg eating. I started feeding boss a few days ago.
She went to freezer camp today.....well, actually sitting in the fridge at the moment and will go in to the pressure cooker tomorrow. First time I ever processed a chicken. Took a long time to get my head wrapped around doing it, but in the end I found it not much different than cleaning fish. Quick and clean. Might try some meat birds in the spring.
This RIR wasn't a very big chicken. Found three eggs in the works in different stages of assembly. I was pleased to find all in good order health wise. Never did find the gall bladder green thing even though I was worried about it.
Now I have to wait and see if there is any more misbehaving. Hopefully the others did not learn this very bad habit.
