Good morning BYC!
I am sitting her with my coffee and 4 newly hatched chicks in the incubator waiting for my others to pip.
I set 11 eggs 4/10/2020. 5 are from my Freedom Ranger rooster and his Freedome Ranger girls, the other 6 are the same Freedom Ranger rooster and my Easter Egger girls.
There is an age difference in hens, my EEs are almost 2 years old and the Freedom Ranger hens and rooster are 1 year old. 1 egg did not appear to be fertilized and it was removed early on. The rest were active and moving chicks could be seen on day 13. (My olive shelled eggs are hard to see but there were good blood vessels and air cell development).
4/29 my first egg popped, middle of the egg and was malpositioned (she hatched late last night with a little assistance!)
4/30 3 more piped and hatched effortlessly.
All that have pipped and hatched so far are my Freedome Ranger hens eggs. Do my EE eggs still have a chance? I've ready about whole hatches that are early or late but the breed variance has me worried.
I'd appreciate any advice or personal experiences!
