Cayuga Duck Incubation Update:
I am currently on day 31 of my Cayuga duck incubation, and it has been quite an exciting journey so far. Out of the original 13 eggs, 10 are still developing, and the other 3 were not viable.
Around 40 hours ago, I noticed the first internal pip — the duckling started breaking through the membrane inside the egg. Since then, I have been monitoring its progress closely. There has been some visible movement, and the duckling seems to be making progress, but I haven’t yet heard any external pipping or chirping.
The egg’s air cell is filled with minimal liquid now, and I can see the duckling's beak inside. I am wondering if I need to intervene, as the external pip hasn't happened yet. Should I wait a bit longer, or should I be assisting at this point? I am unsure if it's still normal for the external pip to take this long after the internal pip.
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
