Cayuga Duck Eggs

My first Cayuga egg! She's laying 1 egg a day right in her nest box. You can already see them lightening up over the week.

I try to be super careful gathering them because I hate it when I mess up the charcoal coating.

Woke up this morning in a grumpy mood , went to collect eggs and got my first black egg!this is my cayugas first spring as an adult and we were getting very large white ones up until this point. I am so happy!

I have an abundance of eggs but no drakes to fertilize them I had good luck with ordering cayugas from Metzer.

Just got our first two eggs in the same nest box. We have three hens and just installed a heat lamp. Think that is triggering the winter laying. We were expecting dark eggs. Still delicious.
