Well that is good to know! I am certainly glad that we got 2 Pekins also! So I'm assuming that the black swedish are going to get a bit bigger than my mallards?

Yes I believe so. She's the second biggest duckling I have, save for the big fat Pekin, haha.

ha ha I have been just calling her the ugly duckling like the story because she/he is different from all of my others. Right now she/he is the same size as my mallards so maybe this one was a runt and tha'ts why she was shipped as a mallard. Right now she is around a week old.

Yep, black Swedish. They're very hardy ducks and shouldn't require any special care. They're also known for their friendliness.

She will get pretty big. They all start out small, but in about a month, you will definitely see a size difference, unless there's something unusual about her.

Could also be a mix, too. I have some mix of Pekin, Khaki Campbell and Rouen, and I have a duck that looks identical to Jonhpdx's pic above. We call her "Cupid" since her white bib is sortof heart shaped. And yes I know Cupid might not be a girls name but oh well. Works for me.
