My female Cayugas never laid black eggs, they tend to be a little greyer and smaller than the Pekin eggs. They are hatchery ducks, is that why?

I've never used efowl but I haven't heard good things about them . If you want true black egg layers go with Metzer's as they offer small order options (for more money) which I prefer that cuz I don't want 10 ducks or geese at one time etc.

Cayuga eggs are darker in the earlier in the year and lighter later in the year. Also, you should check out Efowl, it's pretty cool.
