I have a rooster that was attacked by our other rooster. Then the rooster that lost the battle ran off and we could not find him anywhere. We looked for quite a while. We saw blood and feathers and we thought maybe a coyote got him. We live in a very mountainous area with a lot of wildlife including wolf. Well the next morning we heard him crow, or coc a doodle doo how ever you call it. So we ran out and my goodness the poor thing had frozen blood on what was left of his crown, his breast feathers were gone and exposed redness was showing. BYW, our rooster only has stubs no feet, long story... he was given to us..So I swooped him up brought him in begin to thaw his head up and noticed he had black spots on his stubs. So I gave him food and water which he scarfed down.I gave him baby asprin. He lets me clean him up and work on his wounds. I am wondering what about CBD oil has anyone tried it?

Welcome To BYC!
Can you post some photos of the wounds and the black on his stubs?

Could the black be dirt? Usually it takes a few days for frostbitten tissue to turn black.

Combs bleed a lot, so if most of the damage is on his comb, then likely it will heal fine. Does it look frostbitten too?
Breast feathers missing is a bit odd for a rooster fight, but stranger things have happened. Did you see the roosters fight? It may be predator damage. If the skin is raw on his breast and not torn, I would probably just leave it alone. Your photos will tell the tale and I might change my mind.

As for CBD oil? Don't know! :idunno Maybe someone will chime in on that.

Helping him recover from shock, treating his wound, getting him warm and hydrated would be the main thing I would do. Aspirin for a day or 2 for pain if absolutely necessary.
