CCCS vs. Bankruptcy, which is worse?

Quote:
CCCS is a United Way arm. That is the one we would use. We are going to see what they can do to help us, depending on what they say that will let us know if we need to pursue an attorney.

We've got taxes, student loans, car loans, mortgage, and way too many credit cards. On paper we make 'enough' money, the reality is that we are paycheck to paycheck. And neither of us likes it.

Thank you all for the input, good to hear.

Not all CCCS companies are the same. True consumer credit counseling services is a non-profit like some one already stated. THAT agency is great and is NOT to be confused with anyone else. Scams and thieves are popping up every where. There is no harm tin talking to the real CCCS before making your decision.

You are a 110% right-I've known some people that have used our local non profit CCCS with great results!! Including ourselves-we make enough, but I made some very bad decisions when I was younger (family problems, youth=shopping therapy gone wrong) and then they raised the interest rates through the roof and we just couldn't afford it anymore-let's say I'm totally cured of credit cards. Evil necessity my foot, just plain evil, but I take full responsibility for my actions and have taken steps to rectify my situation. Good luck to the op.
