So I want my quail to have a natural habitat and I dont like the idea of them hurting themselves when they get startled so i figure i should add some stuff to hide in. But the only brush I have on hand is cedar and I heard cedar is bad for they're lungs. (I guess I have pine to, but it would be a challenge to get and fit into they're cage.) Will it be fine?

I love the idea of giving them a natural habitat, but I would avoid cedar if I were you. I give my parrots branches of bottlebrush and grevillea (native Australian plants) and that works well because my parrots are all Aussie natives. I don't know what to recommend.

Whatever fake plants you can find should be okay. I use mini fake plants for my king quails. Natural is always better, but fake plants do the job. The benefit of them is that they can't die or get eaten.
