I have bought chicks from them and have sold breeding stock to them. they are good people. As far as the Rhode Island Reds I do not know if they are true heritage stock from a breeder or hatchery. I will say they are dark like the heritage. Nice birds and lay well. This hatchery is like 15 minutes from me

There are two Cedar Creek Hatcheries. One is in Minnesota and the other is in Oregon. I actually joined this board due to the discussions about this hatchery. I placed an order with the hatchery in Minnesota & I am so disgusted with their customer service I cancelled my order. They say one thing on their web page then offer another when it is time to ship. They don't bother to let you know when your ship date has been changed, I was told I would be sent emails with info and no one ever does it..just all around really bad. They may have nice birds but when they can't be bothered with following through on what they have offered nor contact customers when things on their end changes, etc..sorry, I can't do business with a place like that.

A bit of an old discussion but I must add to this. If you are interested in cute healthy birds, you will get that so go for it. They sell healthy birds. If you want purebred birds that are as described.....maybe look somewhere else for the more rare varieties. I don't know specifically about their RIR but have had a bad experience with another breed they sell and I agree about the customer service. I hope you found the real heritage RIR you were looking for. The really dark RIR are simply gorgeous. If I had room, I'd add them to my flock. :)
