Cedar in the coop??

Hi!
I have read that cedar can cause respiratory problems but, could mixing minimal cedar shavings and pine be an issue? I have a well ventilated coop as well. Just curious

I wouldn't, I've done it before but that was before I knew there was any issues with it. The little tiny bit of cedar made my girls sneezy and raspy. Smelled good but the wheezing chickens kind of made it not so nice.

Why chance it? If you want it to smell better, use some PDZ.

I was going to use cedar bc, my husband does wood work and had some to get rid of so, I was going to use them sparingly.
