Cedar wood safe?

Our coop has cedar fence pickets used for the wood part. These are western red, not eastern aromatic cedar....those are 2 different species. I suspect that the eastern aromatic is more of an issue.

I only mentioned the part about being seasoned for chips because most packaged cedar chips have been kiln dried and still not recommended for use for fowl but as you are not using chips no problem!!

Yes, it's the aromatic varieties that can cause respiratory problems.
