centipedes

One of my hens recently ate a small centipede. She has now lost all of her neck feathers and a few on her breast. Since it is not molting season I'm wondering if eating a poisonous bug had anything to do with it.

Mine go nuts for centipedes and they're all fine. I doubt the 2 things are related in your case.

Any other potential reasons: overzealous roo? pecking from other hens? parasites?
