We have a few 6.5 week old chicks we need to rehome due to space limitations and being unable to keep roosters where we live

1) Birch Marans- still unconfirmed sex but leaning towards pullet; she was a freebie egg with our last clutch of hatching eggs and we do not have space to keep her (already have 2 BCMs in our small backyard flock); Birchens are stunning birds though and she or he would be great for breeding projects and a beautiful addition to any flock

2) Easter egger splash cockerel - DNA confirmed male; he is opal legbar roo x blue andalusian; split for lavender and should carry blue egg gene

3) Olive egger - presumed cockerel by red, 3 row peacomb and his tail feathering coming in

We are located in Lakeland, FL. Chicks are handled daily and friendly. Great with kids! Can drive within 1 hour to transfer them to their new homes.

If interested let me know, Pictures coming

Sorry if there is any confusion, the Easter egger is NOT an opal legbar or being represented as such. The "x" is denoting the cross of his parents. His father is an opal legbar, mother is a blue andalusian.

I disagree that it is impossible to own opal legbars. While there is still work to be done on the lines there are quite a few breeders working on improving them, including where I purchased the Easter eggers from. They are also using opal legbars in their Easter egger pens and as such, this chick has a good chance of carrying the blue egg gene depending upon whether his father had one or two copies (which I believe is one of the traits being worked on with opal legbars- getting them to consistently carry two copies of the blue egg gene).

I dont think its an opal legbar the opal legbar are ment to be color sexing blue eggs and the feather color of an isabelle leghorn which is lavender brown. I would do more research on then and show me some pictures of the opal legbar :)

I think there's some misunderstanding here. I don't have an opal legbar. I am trying to find good homes for these chicks. One of the chicks was sired by an opal legbar of a breeder who does work on the line, but this breeding and the chick were never intended to be part of the opal legbar breeding project. The chick is an easter egger, and he is from a white laying Blue Andalusian hen.

If it's impossible to have one, how were you getting them earlier? They have crossbreed chicks, they don't have the Opal, (I believe from how I read it)
