I have some i want to enter, but i am still waiting for the state to npip test my flock..gonna call now and see if it can get done in time, but if not, will there be someone there to test before judging?
ok here's my next question.
what age can you show?
i have some that i know will be 9 months in november, and a couple that are around 7 months that are already beautiful. so.... can they be that young??? and what exactly do they consider a cock, and a cockeral???
(so i know what category to put them in)
also, does anyone have any showing hints for me? i've never done this before. any pointers would be greatly appreciated. ty
Fluffy Yes there is usually someone their before the show to test birds.
A cockerel is a bird younger than a year they will be judged against other cockerels
I showed my blue jersey giants last year in Lake City and they were only 10 months old so I dont think yours are too young
I believe the Frizzle will be in the open class and the silkie will be in the silkie class the coop tag will say the color, silkie, and either hen, pullet, cock or cockerel
hope this helps
i have 1 that is over a year, and the rest are 9 months, and 6 months plus. i definately want to do the 8 and 9 month ones. they are really pretty. it'll be good practice for lake city.
