Central Florida Breeders Association Double Point Poultry Show, Inverness, FL. Saturday. November 10

Hi, who all is going to Inverness this year? Cmom, do they have a website you can go to?

I have never shown a chicken. Could you tell me where I can find rules on showing them. Also is there a fee to attend? I live in Tampa and would love to take the kids to maybe find a new addition or two. Thank you!

I will post the catalog in a Google Doc today. They do not have a website. Click on the Entry Form below and it has some information.

cmom, do you have to rent or reserve a place inside to sell?

Hi Sue,,,,
If you are an exhibitor, you can rent some cages for $3.00 each or rent a sale area for $5.00..Just add it to your entry fee...

This is going to be my first time showing and I have no idea where to start. What do you do to prep for the show and when do you start getting ready? What do you bring with to the show and what do you need to do while you are at the show? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to be prepared as possible. I'm very excited to start showing. Thanks!

Have you been to a show before? If so, make sure you bathe your birds for parasites. I have a show bag that has combs, VetRX, powder, wipes qtips..If you have never shown before, go to a show a see what goes on. If you see me, feel free to ask any questions you may have...just make sure that you wait till after 9:00 when judging starts to ask!! LOL About an hour before showtime is a really busy time for everyone prepping their birds for judging. If you have questions, I'm sure anyone of us will be willing to answer you!

We will have stick-on name badges if any one want one. We will be in the back of the auditorium on the left side of the stage.

I've been to several shows to see what goes on, but never been on the other side. I'm pretty set on getting them ready, now I'm just not sure what I need to do the day of and where to go. I didn't see anything on the catalog and I already mailed my entry form, but do you need to pay for the cages and do I need to bring shavings? I know I'll have more questions later :) Thanks!

The cages will have shavings in them. I bring some just in case, but most of the time, you don't need to. If your sent in your entry form with payment, you won't have to pay anything else when you get there. I think the show hall usually opens up at 6:00 and judging starts at 9:00.

For anyone who may be interested, I am selling out of my Mille Fleur d'Uccles. I have 3 roos and 18 hens/pullets. Can bring to the Inverness show prepaid. $200.00 for all...I have shown them every year and have taken BB and Res CH Featherleg at this show..I didn't enter any this year because they are molting. If interested, PM me..
