CENTRAL FLORIDA SWAP MEET for June 20, 2009

Thanks for the little roo. He IS already being spoiled. He was confiscated by my wife. He is now a "house rooster" living in the air conditioning. He is temporarily in a cage next tomy wifes side of the bed, until(I was informed) I build him a nice interior cage. He has been "free ranging" in the house all day. As long as she picks up the poo.

We did the plywood bottoms for bio-security when going to swaps. I plan on turning them so the door opens on the side and using them for summer brooders. It will have a slide out bottom for easy cleaning.

Look at you already thinking ahead for that!!

I didn't think of turning them on their sides LOL! I think that's a fantastic idea and I definately understood the reasoning for the solid bottoms. Is it marine plywood that he used?
Just an FYI I will be offline later this morning until tomorrow afternoon. We are meeting my parents this morning down by Orlando and giving them the girls for the week. The inlaws are taking the boys overnight so we are having a "night alone" without any kids!

Your little roo was very stunning and so cute. I could definately see him as a house chicken with his dainty little crow! I ended up with 1 of the black rosecomb bantams. I was trying to put her in a pen on the ground with some other silkies that I got and she acted very confused like she hadn't been on the ground before. She is very dainty and feminine

I will let you know about the blue wheaton oeg's though. They are only about a week old.
I'm really glad you and your daughter could make it out. It was nice meeting the both of you

Is she the one that babysits??

Tricia,

I had a wonderful time at the swap and got some wonderful sikie chicks and some great silkie eggs. I did get two of Barbara's EE pullets. They are in the hen house and getting to know the other girls. It was very hot, but I had a great time and got lots of wonderful birds and eggs. I can't hardly wait until the next one. It was wonderful to meet everyone and put (screen) names with faces! Thank you for the roosters, Barbara. They will be dinner tonight. I will let you know what a silkie taste like, you boyfriend wanted to know.
