What Bitty Girl isnt telling you is that she bought every single chicken at the swap...every single one. I think she left with around 400 new chickens.

She has it bad.....

You guys can yell at me now or later lol.

I came home from the swap and DH told me I have to get 10 RIR chicks/pullets, no roos. I don't want to have to order them, they can be hatchery stock/quality. It is to repay a roofer friend for building the roof for our big coop today while I was at the swap

I contacted one person sortove local, but she is unsure how to sex the chicks, and lord knows I don't know how soooo.....

If anyone can help me out just pm me.

Great fun everyone!! Good to see you all again and to meet some new folks!

Thank everyone for their purchases...TJ, Daygrower and ChickenZoo! Thanks to Kala for taking our silkie roo!!

As you guys know, my DD is leaving in May for CounterIntelligence school for the Army so we are having to disburse many of our flock. What I have left are all SQ stock that we have quite a bit of $$ invested in. If any of you are interested this is what we need to sell:

2 pairs white bantam cochins; one is a cockerel/hen and the other is a cockbird/hen - $75.00 per pair

1 pair barred bantam cochins; cockbird was Best of Variety at the Gold Coast show and pullet is about 8 months old and laying - $50 for the pair

5 mottled bantam cochins - came from Hattricks - 2 cockerels and 3 POL pullets - $100 for the bunch

Great birds for any 4-H 'er that wants to show soon. I'll be posting them on the appropriate thread here on BYC and if I don't get a buyer, I'll put them on eggbid.com . Believe it or not...I'm losing $$ at those prices

...but we have to do what we have to do sometimes.

I think alot of you people at Kelly's were not wearing their name tags! There are members there that I didn't know were there! Now I'll have to wait a month to meet you all again, LOL

Oh Im so sorry your van broke down! How awful, and full of people and chickens, too. Did they fix it right away?

Glad to see you guys again!

I have two little sizzles in the bathtub snuggled up and a ton of eggs in the bator. I think hubby only thinks I got 2 eggs (over 20 including duck eggs I bought the other day)!

Some asked me about the volunteer work I was doing that made me come late, if anyone is interested in that or what I do in general, check out my blog:

Sunshinesilkies, thankyou for the beautiful white silkie pullet. She is sweet and boy was she hungry when we got home! She really chowed down. My DH made a face when he saw the box, but when he saw her, the face went away. (He's a secret chicken daddy) I have to keep reminding DH not to give them so many treats, LOL
