I realized there was not a thread for those of us in Central Florida. I like the Florida thread, but since we are such a long state, it would be nice to connect with people who are less than a three hour drive away... We can talk about our more local farmers markets and produce outlets, our plants and pet issues, and help strengthen our sense of community, I hope!

Right now it seems we have a shortage of breeders for more specialty varieties of chickens. I see a lot of the production type birds offered, but I have been looking for laced Wyandottes and no one around here has any. It would nice to be able to go in together to buy some chicks and be able to pick them up at a local spot.

So, I just hope ya'll decide to jump in here and connect with your neighbors!

They are crossed with duccle. I was originally going to try to shoot for Millie fleur silkie crosses but I just don’t have the room to keep it up and I don’t eat them. I might have been getting close but probably at least another couple of generations . This is a the third silkie x duccle generation.

I only have pictures of the boys that were born in March right now.

This guy below is getting beat up by the others.

This one below is the one I would keep if I was going to keep trying for the Millie fleur color. He is close.
