Most of the Silgos will be like other commercial Red Sex Links: brown/white pullets, rusty males, with a few dark female chicks.......Seems like the original Silgo or Sil- Go breeders were the Parks Family of Barred Rock Fame........Marti's from MO sold them for years and some of theirs were also dark.......I have heard nothing but great things about the guys running Central.....Call him up and ask about the Reds....Can't hurt....Take care....

I ended up trying another hatchery this year since I decided to go with rangers and rainbows rather than Cornish x Central didn't have any meat birds available at the time anyways. I ended up trying hoover and added some of their red hybrid layers to the order, they call their line isa brown, seem to be decent chicks so far though some of the meat birds have crooked toes but they seem to get around fine

I have used Central Hatchery for several years and have ordered broilers as well as RIR. The RIR are a very nice dark red, much better than other hatchery "RIR". They always arrive alive and healthy and do extremely well. I received 100 last month and didn't have a single loss. I strongly recommend them.
