I help the wildlife facility SE of Norman place domestic ducks and geese that are abandoned or injured. We currently have a little muscovy and teenaged pekin who came in together and are healthy and ready for a new home (first 2 pictures below). We also have a domestic gosling who is healthy and ready to go (last photo). We have two quite wild male rouens, healthy and ready (no photo yet but rouens look like mallards but much bigger). Finally, we have a little pekin duckling who is growing up with a wild mallard mama and babies while waiting for a home (3rd picture). We place these guys in homes that (1) won't use them for dinner or a for-profit breeding business, (2) will feed them nutritious food every day - such as chicken feed, turkey feed, or gamebird feed, and (3) have a plan for keeping them safe, especially at night. Ducks and geese need security from predators, as do chickens. If you have experience with ducks, chickens, or other fowl, that is a plus but not required. They also do not require a pond but they would enjoy a kiddie pool or some buckets of water. If interested, please email me or send me a PM. I'll want to know what you want them for, how you will plan to try to keep them safe, and where you are located.

Also, if you are not interested now but would be later, please let me know that as well. And if you have a place in your heart for handicapped domestic ducks, we often need homes for some with special issues, so do let me know if you are interested in that. Finally, if you are interested in having nonflighted (due to prior injury) wild canada geese or wild mallard ducks released on a pond that does not dry up and does not freeze and does not have (normally) snapping turtles, and would be willing to provide some supplemental feed for them (such as corn or grains), we are always interested in release places also; the nearer to Norman or SE OKC the better, unless you can pick them up.

Thank you for your help with these little guys.

An update. We still have the 2 young pekins and the young muscovy - of course, they are now a couple of weeks older than in these pictures. We also have a younger muscovy duckling and a young brown duck who came in unable to walk who is now doing well but still on meds for another week. Thanks.
