I’m adding a heat lamp to my run for this winter and I was wondering if a ceramic reptile heat bulb would do the same as a regular heat bulb? The ceramic bulb puts out heat without the light so I though it would be a good way to heat their run but not disturb their sleep schedule.

Go to your state thread and ask about heating the coop. I suspect for Adult birds they will say not to heat them

Hi and welcome to BYC:frow We're so happy you've joined in the fun:ya How far north are you? I grew up in lake county. Real keys to winter keeping are: draft free, dry, and good ventilation above them. Depending on how far north you are, drifting snow could be an issue.
