We're in the process of making a new coop right now, and I want it to be set up for heat in the winter and a fan in the summer.

Can you give me some tips on what kind of space i'll need if i want to add a ceramic heat lamp? How many feet away from the chickens it should be, etc?

I'd love to hear more about how you wired yours also.

mine is super classy.

it's an extension cord plugged into a timer, in the garage, and run out, under the door, across the lawn, and thru the wire of the eaves in the coop. The extra cord is bundled togeher with a zip tie and its hanging from one of the loops.
